In the third episode of the Superna-Ion Cap comic, our hero continues the journey towards becoming a true sodium-ion battery superhero. This time, the focus is on electrolytes, binders and prototypes – essential ingredients to unlock performance, safety and sustainability. From developing eco-friendly electrolytes and advanced binders to scaling up formulations and testing pouch cell prototypes, this chapter highlights how the MUSIC consortium is working together to bring innovative sodium-ion battery technologies closer to reality.
